28 February 2024 – Hong Kong – Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (HSITP) welcomes the Government’s commitment in the innovation and technology industry as announced in the 2024-25 Budget by the Financial Secretary today. Various policy initiatives were proposed in the Budget to support the development of the Loop. The Government will set up the InnoLife Healthtech Hub in the HSITP, and HKD$2 billion from the HKD$10 billion earmarked will be allocated to support the InnoHK research clusters to establish presence in the Loop. Also, there will be the establishment of the Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute in the Hetao Shenzhen‑Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co‑operation Zone, as well as the allocation of HKD$200 million to provide assistance to HSITP start-ups in engaging in life and health technology in the form of incubation and acceleration programmes.
Mr. Vincent Ma, Chief Executive Officer of HSITP said, “We are pleased to see the HKSAR Government has proposed proactive initiatives to drive the development of Hong Kong as an international I&T centre. We believe the establishment of the Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute in the Co‑operation Zone, coupled with the government’s support of InnoHK research clusters to establish presence in the Loop, will further consolidate Hong Kong's leading position in basic research. Moreover, we are thrilled by the injection of HKD$200 million which will propel the establishment of an encompassing ecosystem for the life and health industry.”

The development of HSITP has been accelerated during the past 12 months, and we have started to see significant progress made in project construction, attraction of enterprises and investments, as well as ecosystem establishment. Looking ahead, we will continue to work closely with the Government and Shenzhen Park to attract top-notch research teams and talent around the world,” Mr. Ma continued.
HSITP is one of the two I&T parks, along with the Shenzhen Park, in The Hetao Shenzhen‑Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co‑operation Zone under the "one river, two banks" and "one zone, two parks" vision. With developments underway in full steam ahead, the Phase 1 development of HSITP will be completed in batches, starting from the yearend of 2024. The first batch of buildings in Phase 1 will include two eight-storey wet laboratories and a five-storey talent accommodation.
